News and Information about Dogs, Cats, and Pet Products

Hi everyone! Chelsea here again!

Today I would like to talk to you about supplements. I was recently reminded on how important supplements are for your dog or cat’s daily well being.  Even more so  for the tummy troubled pets. If you are thinking to yourself that you pup or kitty has been having tummy issues, then keep reading because this will definitely help.

Great health all starts in your pets’ digestive system, if the gut is healthy and strong your pet should not be having tummy issues. If the food you are feeding is a low quality food or a high processed food the gut will not be very hardy.

In the wild, dogs and cats kill and eat RAW food, in my previous blog I wrote about raw feeding your cat, it applies to dogs too. Raw food is what they both should be eating to get the best natural enzymes, probiotics, and minerals/vitamins. When you cook food, it doesn’t naturally have the enzymes found in raw food. Which means that food that is cooked doesn’t digest as well as raw food would, and this could cause the body to be confused and come out as diarrhea or constipation.

So what can you do to boost the gut? Probiotics work to boost the digestive system and get the gut to be the healthiest it can be! Probiotics play a huge role in the natural balance of the intestinal tract. Without probiotics, our systems would be overrun with yeasts and bacterial diseases resulting in the tummy issues, diarrhea, dehydration, or other serious conditions. You need the “good guy” (probiotics) to outnumber the “bad guy”, so without the good guy you will see a lot of diarrhea and constipation.

We have many awesome products in Two Boston’s to help boost your pet’s digestive system. Almost too many to mention here; however, any one of our team members will be happy to lead you to the one your pet needs.

I do want to let you know about the one I use for my cats:

I love Digest All Plus. It is in a powder form and very easy to put in their daily feedings. For about two weeks, you could double the amount of what it recommends, to get your pet’s probiotics on a good level. After that, return to the recommended amount and your pet will be well on the road to a healthy gut!

If your dog or cat has diarrhea, check this out:

Perfect Form is an excellent product to help your pooch or kitty firm everything up. Again, it’s a powder and very easy to use. One thing that is important to watch is your pet’s stool…especially when they are going through tummy problems. They can become very dehydrated and can be life threatening. So make sure to have plenty of fresh water available and be sure to head to the Vet if you need to.

I hope this helps any pooch or kitty with tummy troubles. Again, be sure to stop by the store if you have any questions or need any help!
